Anchored in Hope

We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself.

Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold, and where Jesus, our forerunner, has gone in before us. He is now and forever our royal Priest like Melchizedek.

— Hebrews 6:19-20 (TPT)

The year has nearly come to an end but the uncertainty of the times we live in still persists. Many of us have had to take a re-check on the things that we have put our hope and security in. And re-examine what hope really is.

What is hope? Oxford Dictionaries define it as a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen and a feeling of trust. Is it merely a subjective feeling? Or a future objective reality that you wish to see happen? Or is hope a person or event that makes your confidence sure?

Join us for this exciting new sermon series “Anchored in Hope” and we will examine how while hope in “chariots and princes” (earthly places and people) may prove futile, hope in God is more than a feeling, it is the power of the Holy Spirit that will fill you with all joy and peace as you trust God and overflow with hope! (Romans 15:13)

Ravah Conversations 17 November 2020

Ravah Conversations –
Online Sharing and Ministry To Refresh, Encourage and Strengthen God’s Daughters
With Tammy Teh Yuen, Chong Ching Ching and guest speaker Hadassah Lau (Founder of Hadasity)

Date: 17 November 2020 Tuesday 7:30pm SGT
Soakability Church Facebook Live

This month at Ravah Conversations, we are excited to have with us a good friend Hadassah Lau of Hadasity, a wire-art jewellery organization which champions social causes that fight injustice and rescue women and children from vice and poverty.
We will be hearing Hadassah’s story and how in her pursuit of her dreams and God, she finds the greatest treasure…  and herself. Dreaming and journeying with God leads to us finding out His Heart and how incredible that is, when His Heart and our dream come together.

About our Guest Speaker:
Hadassah is passionate about knowing God and being known by him. Her journey with God in the last ten years has left her insatiably in love with her Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

She is a creative at heart and loves to express herself and communicate through her designing jewelry, painting, and music and she hopes to see the world encounter the love of God and the hope of salvation we have in Jesus Christ through everything she puts her hands to.

About Ravah Conversations:

Ravah רָוָה in Hebrew means to refresh, satiate, satisfy, have or drink one’s fill.

Why Ravah Conversations? Ching Ching and Tammy were having a deep conversation and prayer time together and at the end of it, they were so wow-ed by how God came and met their needs in such a deep, satisfying and powerful way!

And after that Tammy happened to read Jeremiah 31:25 and there it was again! Ravah. There is a longing in every one of us and when we allow God to fill us to fullness, we realise that only in Him can we find that true and utter satisfaction in our souls and life! We decided to hold these online Ravah Conversations at least once a month and take time to find that refreshment through conversation, Scripture and prayer. Get your cup of aromatic tea, Bible and comfortable chair and see you then!

Fanning The Flames

Are you burning with passion to see the Kingdom of God being manifested in your life?

Just like wild fire that spreads really fast, we want to be believers that are contagious in releasing the passion and hunger for the Kingdom of God.

When the Holy Spirit came on Pentecost, it looked like flames that descended upon each disciple and their lives were changed forever. Do you believe you carry the flame of God? This flame in each believer never gets snuffed out. but it is every believer’s responsibility to steward the fire of God within us, so that we can run the full race with joy and power!

Called to Creativity

“Do you think you are creative?”
In one global study where the participants were asked if they saw themselves as creative, only half of the participants from US responded yes, 36% in France and 19% in Japan, just to name a few. It is interesting that so few have the belief that we are born to be creative and some imagine that creativity is reserved for a special few.
Creativity is not just limited to dance, art, culinary interests, photography, doing creative work for a living or the pursuit of hobbyists. We believe that God-given creativity also encompasses creative solutions and innovation in the marketplaces, in governance, in growing families and in bringing solutions to any area of life and in the world!
How do we see God has already placed this within us? How can we see ourselves as the creatives that are made in God’s image and show His nature through beauty and wisdom that would bring inspiration, reconciliation, life and worship?

The Transforming Power of the Gospel

The Gospel is Good News!

And yet there are many of us who are not experiencing the “good news” of our salvation and finding that the road to experiencing heaven at the end of our life’s journey seems light-years away.

What is the Gospel really? Is it just a ticket to heaven? Or is there more to our salvation? What does the Bible say about the transformation that we would experience and also the transformation to the world around us? How does the reality of the Gospel in us become the Good News and the transforming power that this world would clamour for, if only they knew of it?

Join us for “The Transforming Power of the Gospel” in the month of October, with lessons and life examples shared by Ps Jeff Yuen, Ps Patrick Loh and Ps Clement Sim in Soak Living Room.

Prospering With Purpose

Prosperity.

Do you view this with great interest or with great suspicion? You may find your social media full of promising methods and offers to enable you to increase your income and wealth. Or you may view prospering as an impossible or tricky ideal, after having heard news of others going from riches to rags, experiencing loss from scams or crises caused by greed, impulse or erroneous judgements.

This month, we are going to discuss prospering from a Biblical view. And surprise, prosperity is not a dirty word in the Bible! Prospering is a desire for abundance, growth, flourishing and to be fruitful and that is something which is divine designed by God in each of us when He created us. However without knowing God and His purposes for us, this God-given desire will become distorted and perverted and we will become enslaved, driven and ultimately lost.

Here’s some food for thought about what we will be exploring:

1. You can’t succeed without knowing what is the big why that drives you to do want you do and pursue what you pursue.
2. Purpose brings clarity and direction in what you do and that empowers you to prosper in what you do.
3. When you are aligned with God’s purposes for your life, you will do the right thing at the right time and prosper without strife.

Shifting Atmospheres

The Bible says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

What you see in the physical environment is linked and affected by the invisible spiritual atmosphere around you. Failing to realise this will cause you to mistake the enemy’s attacks as human attacks or self-defeating beliefs, hence we would end up fighting against flesh and blood.  God has already given us what we need to be victorious in the spiritual and physical atmosphere! In the Kingdom, God’s people need to know how God’s Presence shifts the atmosphere and with the right perspective, we always win!

Join us for this powerful topic in the month of September, with lessons and life examples shared by Ps Jeff Yuen, Ps Patrick Loh and Ps Clement Sim in Soak Living Room.
