About the Speaker Andrew Yeo:
Growing up in a less than favorable family environment, my childhood was one of hurt and rejection; I found life to be meaningless and often questioned my purpose in life. Looking for acceptance, I fell into bad company and was involved in street gangs and took to drinking, smoking and glue-sniffing; these left me no clues to life but an emptiness in my heart.
When I was 15, a friend invited me to church. I was cynical but finally agreed to go with him. That day was my first time attending church and it was to be a God-planned turning point in my life!
As the singing started, a voice said to me, “You will be like that guy on stage one day.” I had no idea this meant I would lead people in worshipping God, and my first response to this man singing with lyrics being screened behind him was that I was to be a karaoke singer! I was taken back by this mysterious voice; yet there was a sense of peace that I had never experienced before. That morning, I invited Jesus into my heart and my life has never been the same again.
Today, I am a pastor at Cornerstone Community Church. As a speaker and worship leader, I’ve had the privilege to share my life story in many churches and youth and children camps, and also to lead thousands in worship in stadiums and conferences in Singapore and in Asia. God has also placed songs in my heart that I have been able to share through English and Mandarin albums. I am blessed that many of these songs have been translated into various Asian languages.
Jesus is faithful and true! He has caused my empty life to be filled with hope and today, seeing what Christ has done in my life and how He has used me, I know that He has a plan for you and He will use you too if you allow Him to.
